The AOMF conference, held in Québec from 13 to 15 October 2015, brought together member Ombudsmen and Mediators from 34 French-speaking countries. The event covered a wide range of topics and subjects, under the banner of "The Ombudsman: promoting good governance and protecting Government integrity".
This three-day event featured numerous enlightening discussions, in both full plenary sessions and smaller workshops. The conference was held at the prestigious National Assembly of Québec and was chaired by Raymonde Saint-Germain, Québec Ombudsperson and President of the AOMF.
The conference was an opportunity for the High Commissioner to network with colleagues from other French-speaking countries, and plans were established for study visits in 2016 with a view to sharing experience and best practice between institutions.
Following the closure of the ninth annual conference, the AOMF General Meeting voted on membership applications, including the application from the Monegasque High Commissioner. Following unanimous support for this motion, the High Commissioner is now a voting member of the French-speaking network of Mediators and Ombudsmen.
