For the second time, the High Commissioner for the Protection of Rights, Liberties and for Mediation took part in the annual Seminar of the Council of Europe’s Anti-Racism Commission.
This seminar gathered together, on 28th-29th May 2015, the national bodies of the 47 member States of the Council of Europe, specialized in the fight against discrimination, as well as numerous NGOs, to discuss the role of such specialized Bodies in addressing the issue of underreporting of discrimination and hate crime in their respective countries.
The speakers particularly emphasized the excessive lack of recourse by vulnerable people to national specialized Bodies fighting discrimination and the importance of a partnership between these Bodies and civil society to resolve this situation.
The seminar was also an occasion for the Monaco Ombudsman’s representative to develop and strengthens its links with other European homologues.
