While working to include more women on the jury of the new Monegasque start-ups incubator/accelerator, Fabrice Marquet, recently appointed head of MonacoTech, came across the JamaisSansElles association, a movement created in early 2016, which has received very strong support in France via social networks with regard to promoting women's participation in public debates.
Following a suggestion by Fabrice Marquet, Anne Eastwood received Tatiana Salomon, President of the association, and Natacha Quester-Séméon, spokesperson, at the High Commission during their stay in the Principality, for an informal discussion on the many projects undertaken by this movement.
The High Commissioner thus welcomed the innovative approach of this newly-formed association, which promotes gender diversity in the field of decision-making with the support of a network of influential men who undertake not to take part in any media events such as debates, expert panels or round tables in which women are not represented.
The association takes a collaborative approach based on individual ethics and models. It aspires above all to be humanist in addition to being feminist and echoes the action of associations such as Femmes Leaders in the Principality, which has made it its mission to defend the position of women "in complementarity with men and not in adversity," and the initiatives of the "She Can He Can" association (formerly "GenderHopes") to promote women as leaders.
The High Commissioner is naturally very aware of the importance of gender equality and therefore aims to facilitate future contacts with local players, making it possible to draw inspiration from these good practices in order to promote the role of women in the Principality in an increasingly active manner.
