The High Commissioner reflects the desire of Prince Albert II of Monaco to promote the Principality's tradition of the Rule of Law and its commitment to universal Human Rights, in accordance with the country's specific characteristics.

In this respect, collaboration with other counterpart institutions in various regions of the world is a cardinal element of the work of the High Commissioner. Whether it concerns networks of Ombudsmen or human rights partners, the High Commissioner has been working since 2014 to maintain a constructive dialogue and to intervene in the context of the various events organized by its partners.

Association of Ombudsmen and Mediators of La Francophonie

International

The Association of Ombudsmen and Mediators of La Francophonie (AOMF) seeks to foster greater understanding of the role of Ombudsmen and Mediators, and to encourage the development of independent mediation institutions, in the French-speaking world.

The High Commissioner is member since 2015.

Association of Mediterranean Ombudsmen

International

The Association of Mediterranean Ombudsmen (AMO), founded in 2008, is a network of Mediators and Ombudsmen from across the Mediterranean region.


The association and its members are committed to promoting and defending democracy, the rule of law and social peace throughout the Mediterranean region, and to enforcing the provisions of national and international Human Rights texts, including the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and the Rabat Declaration.

The High Commissioner is member since 2015.

 


International Ombudsman Institute

International

The International Ombudsman Institute (IOI) was established in 1978 with the objective of strengthening good governance and cooperation between ombudsman institutions around the world. It is currently the only networking bringing together more than 200 institutions around the world. The IOI is organized in six regional chapters (Africa, Asia, Australasia & Pacific, Europe, the Caribbean & Latin America and North America).

The High Commissioner is member since 2022.

The European Commission agaisnt Racism and Intolerance (ECRI)

International

ECRI is a human rights body of the Council of Europe, composed of independent experts, which monitors problems of racism, xenophobia, antisemitism, intolerance and discrimination. It prepares reports and issues recommendations to member States. It draws up reports and makes recommendations to member states concerning the concordance between national policies and the expectations of the Council of Europe on the above-mentioned human rights issues.

The Commissioner for Human Rights is an independent institution within the Council of Europe, mandated to promote the awareness of and respect for human rights in the 47 Council of Europe member States.
