The Mediators and Ombudsmen of the Association of Ombudsmen and Mediators of the French-speaking World (AOMF) met in Marrakech for the Association’s 11th Conference on the theme “The digital transformation and access to rights – a common issue in the French-speaking world: What role for Ombudsmen and Mediators?”
The High Commissioner joined her counterparts in the AOMF from 16 to 19 May 2022, to compare their experiences of the challenges posed by the digital transformation.
Three themed workshops were on offer to respond to the multiple concerns underlying this question and provided an opportunity to share ideas on topics associated specifically with access to rights, children’s rights, and the particular problems faced by emerging countries.
Ms Marina Ceyssac, High Commissioner, focused her contribution on research into access to rights, speaking during a workshop on the impact of the digital transformation on personal data protection. She was also particularly interested in the workshops on children’s rights, insofar as they raised the question of the role of Ombudsmen in guaranteeing access to education and secondly, provided useful information to feed into the High Commissioner’s thinking on ways she might contribute to the field of children’s rights.
