On 4 February, the Monegasque High Commissioner Anne Eastwood visited her French counterpart, the Defender of Rights, in Paris to take part in a closed meeting to develop a five-year strategic plan for the Association des Ombudsmans et Médiateurs Francophones (AOMF, Association of Ombudsmen and Mediators of La Francophonie).
She was accompanied by Christelle Revel, the Office of the High Commissioner’s Legal Advisor for International Relations. The meeting was held under the aegis of the Association’s Secretary-General, Jacques Toubon, and led by an expert in strategic planning.
It provided an opportunity to draw out the main priorities and strategic vision for the AOMF’s development. These will then be translated into an operational plan designed to position the network as a key player for its members and within the Francophonie community on strengthening the rule of law, good governance and human rights.
This was the first time that Anne Eastwood had participated in a meeting of the network’s governing bodies since her election to the Executive Board at the Association’s 10th conference in November 2018.
