Impartiality

The principle of impartiality is central to the work of the High Commissioner.

He/she ensures that all parties to a dispute are given sufficient opportunity to provide their explanations.

The High Commissioner has an influential, rather than coercive, role. He/she must act in an unbiased and equitable manner towards both the citizen and the Administration. He/she serves the public interest and performs his/her duties with responsibility and diligence, seeking fair and lasting solutions that best reflect the interests of all parties.
