Following the conclusion, after eight years, of the term of office of Anne Eastwood, who was the first to occupy the role, Marina Ceyssac was appointed the new High Commissioner for the Protection of Rights, Liberties and for Mediation by Sovereign Ordinance No. 9.9097, dated 11 February 2022.
Marina Ceyssac has experience of working both in the Ministry of State and in the Department of Justice. She began her career as a project manager in the Department of Foreign Affairs, where she became Secretary-General in 2005. In March 2007, she was appointed Director of Diplomatic and Consular Relations at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, before joining the Department of Justice in October 2009 as an Advisor to the Director and subsequently as Secretary-General. In 2017, she took up post as General Inspector of the Civil Service within the Ministry of State.
